Who Created Stake
The founders are two Australians: Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani. They met as teenagers online, playing RuneScape.

That's also where their first gambling scheme began. RuneScape had a format of duels for in-game gold, which players called "staking" – this is where the company's name later originated. Craven and Tehrani built a business on this long before any cryptocurrency existed.
In 2013, when Bitcoin was worth less than a hundred dollars, they, along with Chris Freeman, launched Primedice – a simple crypto dice game. It was one of the first platforms with a provably fair mechanism, where the result could be cryptographically verified.
In 2016, Craven and Tehrani founded Easygo – a company that develops games for online casinos. And in August 2017, they launched Stake.com.
By 2024, Forbes included both of them in the list of billionaires.
