Duel — Zero Commission Casino

Duel is the strangest platform to emerge in recent years. Strange not in its design or name, but in its business model: it offers eleven of its own games with zero commission, and returns half of its commission on third-party games.

The slogan on the main page reads "the first casino that cares" — the original is cruder. Let's figure out what's behind this and where the line between real math and marketing lies.

The founders' surnames here mean more than usual. Ossi Ketola is a Finn who, in 2016, created CSGOEmpire, one of the largest skin betting platforms in Counter-Strike. Patrik Antonius is a poker legend, one of the top ten most famous players in history. We've written separately about both of them and how they came together.

Key Difference: Zero House Edge

A typical casino makes money on its margin. A slot returns 96% and keeps 4%, roulette takes 2.7%, blackjack — half a percent with perfect play. Duel has removed this percentage in its games: Dice, Mines, Plinko, Crash, Blackjack, Keno, Castle Roulette, Video Poker, Beef, Rock Paper Scissors, and Methlabs are all marked with 100% RTP.

What this literally means: the mathematical expectation of a round is zero. Not positive — zero. The casino doesn't take a percentage from you, but it doesn't pay extra either.

This is noticeable even against the best market offers. Stake Originals has a house edge of 1%, and that was considered the gold standard. Zero is an order of magnitude better, and the right question immediately arises: how does the platform then survive? We explain the answer on the page about zero edge; in short, it's through slots from third-party studios, sports betting, and an affiliate program.

Rakeback That Looks Like a Typo

Where there is a commission, Duel returns half of it. Fifty percent of the house edge, instantly, to the main balance, with no wagering requirements.

For comparison: Stake's figure is 3.5%. That's a 14.3 times difference on the same turnover. One hundred thousand dollars wagered in slots with a four percent commission will return two thousand dollars to you at Duel and one hundred forty at Stake.

On blackjack, the percentage rises to 80. With basic strategy, the house edge there is about 0.5%, and after the return, 0.1% remains — a figure that simply doesn't exist in the industry. You can calculate your case in the rakeback calculator.

Withdrawals and Verification

Crypto withdrawals are processed automatically, without manual checks or queues. The platform claims a median time of less than three minutes and no own withdrawal fees.

Regarding verification, it must be said carefully, because "casino without KYC" is their main advertising slogan, but the user agreement states otherwise. Literally: Duel reserves the right to request documents before processing a withdrawal, and in case of refusal, is not responsible for the loss of access to funds. That is, usually there is no check, but there is no promise of its absence either. More details on when it is activated can be found on the withdrawals page.

What to Understand Before Registering

License. Anjouan is a significantly more lenient jurisdiction than Curaçao, not to mention Malta. Operator requirements there are softer, and the dispute resolution mechanism is weaker. This is not a death sentence, but it is a factor. A detailed analysis can be found on the license page.

Platform Age. A launch in July 2025 means Duel doesn't yet have a long history of payouts. The terms are generous, but there are fewer time-tested guarantees than with platforms that have eight years of experience.

Geography. Access is closed to the USA, UK, and a number of EU countries. The list changes, so you need to check at the time of registration.

Zero is not a plus. A zero house edge removes the casino's built-in advantage but doesn't create an advantage for you. Variance doesn't disappear, and you can lose with a zero expected value just the same.
