How Stake Calculates Turnover
The level depends solely on the total amount of bets. Whether you won money during the month or ended up in the red — this does not affect progress in any way; only the amount of money wagered matters.
One detail trips up almost everyone who calculates manually: sports bets count triple. The wording from Stake's help section states — one dollar wagered on sports equals three dollars of turnover. So, Gold, with a required turnover of one hundred thousand, is achieved either with one hundred thousand turnover in the casino or approximately 33,400 in sports.
There are fifteen levels. Bronze opens at ten thousand, followed by Silver and Gold, then six Platinum tiers and five Diamond tiers, and at the very top, Obsidian with a billion in turnover. The most challenging tier is the transition from Platinum VI to Diamond I: ten million versus twenty-five million, a two-and-a-half-fold difference. This is where most players stop.
Rakeback — The Only Payout That Can Be Calculated Precisely
Rakeback is accrued with each bet regardless of the outcome and is calculated using the formula:
turnover × game house edge × 3.5%
The official help section provides an example: a turnover of 1 BTC on a game with a 2% house edge yields 0.0007 BTC. Let's check: 1 × 0.02 × 0.035 = 0.0007. It matches.
From this follows something rarely stated: the amount of rakeback depends not so much on the turnover amount as on what you played. A million in turnover on Stake Originals with their one percent yields 350 dollars. The same million in slots with four percent yields 1400. The same money, a fourfold difference.
For sports bets, the house edge is fixed at 3%. Rakeback accumulates automatically, can be claimed with a button at any time, and does not need to be wagered.
What This Calculator Deliberately Excludes
Besides rakeback, the program includes a weekly bonus (arriving Saturdays at 12:30 GMT via the VIP Telegram channel), a monthly bonus (once a month via email), and a one-time payout for reaching a new level. None of these amounts are published anywhere.
Calculators that promise to show "your bonus for Platinum III" either take numbers from other people's screenshots or pull them out of thin air. Stake explicitly states that the amounts depend on the level and activity over the last seven and thirty days, and it does not disclose the formula itself — and the scatter in player reports shows that it also changes. Therefore, such fields are not included here. It's better not to calculate than to calculate incorrectly.
One Hundred Million Turnover: What It Looks Like in Numbers
I reached Diamond. My total turnover exceeded one hundred million dollars — precisely the threshold for Diamond III.
I primarily played Mines and Limbo, both with a one percent house edge. Let's calculate: 100,000,000 × 0.01 × 0.035 = 35,000 dollars in rakeback. If the same turnover had gone through slots with four percent, it would have been 140 thousand.
Thirty-five thousand looks decent right up until you consider where the turnover came from. One hundred million with a one percent house edge represents a million dollars in mathematical expectation in favor of the casino. Rakeback returned three and a half percent of that million. My overall result on the platform is a significant loss, and the status did not improve it by a single dollar.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do wins and losses affect VIP level? No. Only the total amount wagered is counted. A person who won a million and a person who lost a million will be at the same level with the same turnover.
