Duel vs. Stake: Which to Choose?
Two platforms where I play myself, and two opposing approaches. Stake – eight years on the market, licenses, Formula 1 sponsorship, and mathematics with a one percent commission. Duel – one year in operation, a light offshore license, and zero commission on its own games.

Where Duel Undeniably Wins
Rakeback. The difference is not in percentages, but in multiples. Fifty percent of the house edge versus three and a half percent is 14.3 times more on the same turnover.
Let's calculate on one hundred thousand in slots with a 4% commission:

Commission in proprietary games. Zero versus one percent. In Mines, this is exactly one percent on each cell of the table: 24 mines and one diamond give 25.00× versus 24.75×, a full field clear is 5,200,300× versus 5,148,297×.
Withdrawal speed. Automatic processing versus the regulation "usually up to half an hour, sometimes up to three business days."
Blackjack. An effective 0.1% after rakeback with a full 3:2 payout. Stake does not have a comparable offer.
Verification. Not required by default, whereas at Stake, level two is mandatory before any withdrawal.
Where Stake Wins
License. Curaçao plus a separate Brazilian license versus Anjouan, where the dispute resolution mechanism is practically non-existent. This is the most serious point in Stake's favor, and it outweighs many things.
History. Eight years of payouts versus one year. Stake has a verifiable track record, including surviving a $41 million hack in 2023, after which player payouts were not interrupted. Duel does not yet have such a track record.
Scale. Stake's gross gaming revenue for 2024 is $4.7 billion, with about 134 million monthly visits. A large company must value its reputation simply for economic reasons.
Transparency of terms. Turnover requirements in the VIP program are published, the rakeback formula is provided in the help section with a calculation example. For Duel, specific percentages have to be gathered from independent sources.
Reputational predictability. Stake has had its problems, but they do not have a public policy built on scandal.
About Reputation Separately
A direct paragraph is needed here, without vague wording.
In spring 2026, Duel's live blackjack broadcasts led to a serious scandal: employees insulted players on air, followed by racist jokes and a gesture associated with Nazism. The specialized press wrote about it, but the platform did not change its format.
This does not prevent their math from being fair and payouts from being fast – all of this is verified and all of it is true. But this is a fact that you need to know, and you will have to decide for yourself whether you are willing to entrust your money to such a project. We do not make this choice for the reader.
What to choose for the task
If you play Originals and value math — Duel. Zero versus one percent, and over the long run, that's significant.
If you play blackjack — Duel, no alternatives. The effective 0.1% is unparalleled.
If you spin slots — Duel for money, but with a caveat: 50% rakeback versus 3.5% is a huge difference, and a weak license is a real risk.
If you keep large sums on your balance — Stake. A weak regulator becomes a problem exactly when something goes wrong.
If you bet on sports — roughly parity, Stake has a wider line.
If you need predictability — Stake.
My experience on both
On Stake, my turnover exceeded one hundred million dollars, my status reached Diamond, and the result was a large loss. No complaints about payouts: money arrived quickly, and I passed verification without a second round.
About Duel, I'll be more honest than is customary in reviews: the conditions there are indeed the best on the market, and that's no exaggeration. But the best conditions and a reliable platform are different axes, and a young project with an Anjouan license loses on the second axis.
The general conclusion I drew from both platforms has nothing to do with rakeback. Neither zero percent nor fifty percent return makes the game profitable. They make it cheaper. With my turnover, the difference between one percent and zero would have been a million dollars – and I would still have been in the red, just less so.
